Mel Thompson’s Blog

Mel Thompson

Welcome.  My name is Mel Thompson.  This is my personal blog, where I write about professional and personal interests and issues.

I am 61 years old. I have one son, Connor age 23.  I live with my girlfriend, Elaine, in Worcester, Mass.  For the last 30 years I have provided public relations and communications consulting services to various large, medium and small businesses. I work out of my home.  I also own a small and growing number of web sites to generate income with good content.

I am fortunate to have many lifelong friends from high school and college who I share new experiences with and whose children grew up with my son.

I am a writer. I have an English degree for the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and an M.S. in Communications for Boston University.  I am past president of the Boston Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and past chair of its Northeast District.

I wrote the Credit Card Debt Survival Guide, and I post relevant credit card debt content on www.credit-card-debt-relief-4u.com (I am converting www.credit-card-debt-survival.com over to this blog site.)  I enjoy helping people who cannot afford to pay their credit card debt. I became an expert on that subject after encountering financial difficulties that resulted from a divorce.

I am fit for my age and place an emphasis on diet and exercise.  I have hiked 28 of the New Hampshire White Mountains 48 4000-foot mountain peaks. I have overcome some health challenges related to a faulty heart valve.  As a result I was forced to become a sophisticated consumer of health services in the U.S.

Over time I will be posting content here on my subjects of interest to me including

Effective writing

Content development

Medical care

Hiking

Cooking and Diet

Tennis

Golf

and Politics
